Wales Rally GB is based in Builth Wells for this year meaning we have had guests visiting from all over including Italy and the Netherlands. It has meant early starts and lots of room changes but everybody has been lovely so have really enjoyed the week.

Man v Horse  – done. Loony Music festival – done. 60th birthday celebrations – done. Midsummer Nights Dream party still to come this Saturday June 25th. Will be great fun – am praying for dry weather

Trialling German style potato pancakes with our veggie guests who are here for the Smallholders and Gardeners Show  in Builth Wells. They are rather scrummy and may have to be a permanent feature on the menu

Exhausted after 2weeks of non stop bed changes bathroom cleaning and fabulous friendly guests

We buried one of the Llanwrtyd Wells’ true individuals yesterday. Alex was one of life’s creative, colourful, independent minded characters who brought colour and just a little craziness into our lives. Needless to say we celebrated his life in appropriate style at the Neuadd Arms with a few drinks and sad, bluesy, well crafted  music from Dangerous Dave. A memorable evening – we’ll miss you Alex.

Another glorious sunny day to look forward to. 4 guests out, 3 guests staying on and 4 more guests coming this evening. Busy times! But I wouldn’t change our life here in Llanwrtyd Wells, Mid Wales for anyone.
